As far as I know there already exist some shops where products are unpacked and you have to bring your own containers. But this Berlin shop had enogh good PR to draw my attention. And the capital of Germany is not far from my hometown.
The idea revolves around sustainability and a now wildly discussed problem of waste. Plastic is flooding us and soon it might destroy life as we know it. Why should we limit ourselves to fabric totes for shopping and return glass bottles. Maybe coming to a shop with a bunch of your own boxes and bags sounds like an effort, but I think it is mostly a matter of mentality.
